Killing Sacred Cows -a Call to Endurance

Waiting For Return of Christ

( A Call to Endurance Perservereance)

Exodus 32:1 (NKJV)
1  Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for

this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

Exodus 32:2-26 (NKJV)
2  And Aaron said to them, “Break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.”
3  So all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron.
4  And he received the gold from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molded calf. Then they said, “This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!”
5  So when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow is a feast to the LORD.”
6  Then they rose early on the next day, offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
7  And the LORD said to Moses, “Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves.
8  They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and worshiped it and sacrificed to it, and said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!’ ”
14  So the LORD relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people.
15  And Moses turned and went down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony were in his hand. The tablets were written on both sides; on the one side and on the other they were written.
16  Now the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God engraved on the tablets.
17  And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “There is a noise of war in the camp.”
18  But he said: “It is not the noise of the shout of victory, Nor the noise of the cry of defeat, But the sound of singing I hear.”
19  So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing. So Moses’ anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.
20  Then he took the calf which they had made, burned it in the fire, and ground it to powder; and he scattered it on the water and made the children of Israel drink it.
21  And Moses said to Aaron, “What did this people do to you that you have brought so great a sin upon them?”
22  So Aaron said, “Do not let the anger of my lord become hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.
23  For they said to me, ‘Make us gods that shall go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’
24  And I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them break it off.’ So they gave it to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf came out.”
25  Now when Moses saw that the people were unrestrained (for Aaron had not restrained them, to their shame among their enemies),
26  then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, “Whoever is on the LORD’S side–come

to me.” And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him.

Israel Impatience – Waiting on the Lord

  • This picture of Moses going up to mountain 40 days and nights and Israel impatience and unbelief and rebellion is a Picture of both church and unchurched today impatience and idolatry!
  • In same way as moses Jesus has gone to the Father and will return one day soon, but many have become impatient filled with unbelief and rebellion, departed from faith and stepped into idolatry
    • Ge 19:14 — So Lot rushed out to tell his daughters’ fiancés, “Quick, get out of the city! The LORD is about to destroy it.” But the young men thought he was only joking.
    • Many Have stopped waiting for the Lords return
    • Luke 12:16-21 (AMP)
16 Then He told them a parable, saying, The land of a rich man was fertile and yielded plentifully.
17  And he considered and debated within himself, What shall I do? I have no place [in which] to gather together my harvest.
18  And he said, I will do this: I will pull down my storehouses and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain or produce and my goods.
19  And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many good things laid up, [enough] for many years. Take your ease; eat, drink, and enjoy yourself merrily.
20  But God said to him, You fool! This very night they [the messengers of God] will demand your soul of you; and all the things that you have prepared, whose will they be?
21  So it is with the one who continues to lay up and hoard possessions for himself and is not rich [in his relation] to God [this is how he fares].

Virtue of Patience

Life is composed of waiting periods. The child must wait until he is old enough to have a bicycle, the young man until he is old enough to drive a car, the medical student must wait for his diploma, the husband for his promotion, the young couple for savings to buy a new home. The art of waiting is not learned at once.

—Howard Whitman

We are called to Wait on the Lord return and Believe His promises. It takes faith to wait on God because you believe that He is good and knows the outcome and what is best for you

James 5:7-12 (NKJV)
7  Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.

(Many are missing the Latter rain revivals that are here)
8  You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
9  Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!
10  My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience.
11  Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord–that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
12  But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes,” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment.

Patience/Waiting produces Character and Confidence and Crucifies the Flesh. Usually we want something or want immediate results or relief

*Many people don’t want answered prayers they want relief.

Patience Will allow you to Participate in End Time Revival

Patience Tests and Proves

A Steinway 50-Year Trial Run

A salesman called on Steinway & Sons to show them a new piano-key pin.

“My company believes this aluminum pin is greatly superior to the pin you have been using,” he said.

Mr. Steinway deliberated for some moments.

“Well, young man,” he said at last, “we are an old firm, slow and cautious about making changes. But we will install your pins in one of our pianos and give them a trial.”

The salesman was delighted.

“That’s good enough for me,” he said.

“How long a trial will you need?”

“Oh,” said Steinway thoughtfully, “I’d say about 50 years.”

Patience Produces Godly Endurance Perserverence

The Moon And Barking Dogs

A certain judge was constantly annoyed by the sneering remarks of a certain “wise cracking” and abusive attorney. Instead of cracking down on the lawyer and silencing him, the judge would only smile and chew his pencil until people wondered at his patience.

At a dinner someone asked him, “Judge, why don’t you slap down that wise guy lawyer?”

The judge laid down his knife and fork and resting his chin on his hands said, “Up in our town there lives a widow who has a dog which whenever the moon shines, goes out and barks all night at the moon.” Then the judge quietly resumed eating.

One of the company asked, “But judge, what about the dog and the moon?” And he replied. “Oh, well the moon just keeps right on shining!”

Oh, for grace today to keep on shining for Christ amidst all the barking dogs.

Aaron: “The Impatience and rebellion in people will always find a friend in the weakness of Leadership.”

  • Impatient people will always get you to compromise your position. Titanic….Captain Compromised speeding up in the iceburg to make up time

Aaron waning to please the people allowed made a Sacred Cow

  • Many Christian Leaders today ahave also compromised caved into impatient people because of their weakness insecurity and turned the ministry into something very strange , idolatrous and entertaining.
  • Many have created their own “Sacred Cow” that is traded in their jewelry and precious faith for an image of God they have created. That is made Another Jesus in their image
  • This Jesus is a good God who will not get mad at me if I do what ever I want, Live with whoever I want , live the way that I want. He loves me
  • This Jesus loves us just the way we are , we don’t have to change
  • Created a Harmless Jesus
  • Created a understanding Jesus who will just look the other way
  • Created a Jesus after our Own Image instead of a Holy God we create a Commomn God
  • Instead of a Powerful God we create an idol that doesn’t speak.

Impatience will lead to revelry (notes on Mardi Gras) Bull of Egypt god of fertility

Impatience will ultimately lead to rejection by God

Revelation 14:12 (AMP)

Here [comes in a call for] the steadfastness of the saints [the patience, the endurance of the people of God], those who [habitually] keep God’s commandments and [their] faith in Jesus.

Hebrews 6:12 (KJV)
12

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Hebrews 10:36 (KJV)
36

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)
1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us

, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
