Fire of God
I have been thinking about the fire of God this week. The fire of God consumes wherever it goes! Our lives become part of God's fire as we spend time with God in prayer, studying His word and fellowshipping with other Christians. As we do this people around us will either catch the fire of God or run from it. Charles Wesley said that He set himself on fire with the gospel of Jesus Christ and men came to watch Him burn! As a result of his passion and fire for God thousands of churches were started. The only way we can do something for God is to let His baptism of fire burn deep in our hearts. Church planting, home groups and anything we do for God is not a work we do but a extension of the work of God in our lives. Yes of course there is always time and work involved in anything we do! However, our efforts and labors will flow naturally and harmoniously because we are submitted to a God Who is in control of our lives and guides us along the way. You need three things for fire; fuel, air or oxygen and ignition or a spark. God's Word in our lives is the fuel, the Holy Spirit is the breath of life that gives oxygen to His fire. Ignition comes when we are around others that have a passion for living for God. We are all on the launching pad of God so get ready for lift off! He is faithful. Hebrews 1:7 (NLT) God calls his angels "messengers swift as the wind, and servants made of flaming fire."
